FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are seeking public assistance in locating a man who used counterfeit money at several stores earlier this month.

Authorities said the man bought merchandise using counterfeit money at Victoria’s Secret and Pink stores at the Cross Creek Mall on Aug. 11.

The man also attempted to use counterfeit money at a Zumiez store inside the mall on the same day, but was unsuccessful, according to police.

Police said the man passed at least $900 in counterfeit money at local businesses.
