Man commits suicide in Brier Creek parking lot
A man shot himself Friday night in the parking lot of the Dick's Sporting Goods at Brier Creek.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man shot himself Friday night in the parking lot of the Dick's Sporting Goods at Brier Creek.
Police were called after the shots were fired, but the man was dead when they arrived. The incident happened just after 6 p.m., police said. They did not release the man's name.
A witness told WRAL News he heard two shots then saw a man lying on the ground beside a silver sedan.
Officers taped off a large area of the popular dining and shopping destination. Stores were not evacuated and no shoppers or employees were ever in danger.
