Police: Former Wake Hospice board member embezzled thousands

A longtime Hospice of Wake County board member was charged Friday with embezzling more than $100,000 from the Raleigh law firm where she worked, according to warrants obtained by WRAL News.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A longtime Hospice of Wake County board member was charged Friday with embezzling more than $100,000 from the Raleigh law firm where she worked, according to warrants obtained by WRAL News. 

Susan Rouse, 64, of 6520 Wynbrook Way, turned herself in Friday and faces on felony count of embezzlement.

According to police, Rouse stole money from Nicholls & Crampton, P.A., the firm where she worked, over a nine-year period beginning in July 2003. 

Rouse was in the Wake County jail Saturday under a $50,000 secured bond and is scheduled to make her first court appearance Tuesday.
