Police: Fayetteville teen impaired, had no license in fatal crash

A Fayetteville teen is charged with driving while impaired and without a license after a crash Saturday that killed one person and left another in critical condition.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville teen is charged with driving while impaired and without a license after a crash Saturday that killed one person and injured another.

Police say Bryanna Hamilton, 17, lost control and flipped her 1995 Nissan just after 2 a.m. on Rosehill Road near Hickory Hill Road. Denzel Graves, 16, of Reggie Court in Spring Lake, was killed in the crash and Cheyanna Cummings, 18, of Parkton Road in Hope Mills, was ejected. 

Cummings, Hamilton and four other passengers – Alya Shaw, 19, of Snapper Court, Chyna Harris, 18, of Arrowhead Road in Spring Lake, and Benyetta Nicholas, 17, and Isaiah Nicholas, 14, both of Connie Court in Spring Lake – were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Cummings was listed in critical condition Saturday afternoon. Shaw and Harris' injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening, police said.

Hamilton, Benyetta Nicholas and Isaiah Nicholas were treated and released.
