Police: Boy, 9, struck by car in Durham

— A 9-year-old boy was struck by a car Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of Liberty Street, Durham police said. 

Investigators said the boy was struck about 1 p.m. after running into the road to follow his mother across the street. 

The boy's name has not been released, but he was taken to a local hospital and was in critical condition, authorities said. 

No charges have been filed, but the wreck is still under investigation. 

No other information was released.

    It was a serious as reported originally. Unfortunaly the news will give the bad/sad details of a story immediately but they don't do agood job of follow up or "the rest of the story". I'm still wondering about the woman found under the bridge on Latta Rd in Durham, almost 20 days ago!!!!
