Plea denied in death of Roxboro man
The North Carolina Court of Appeals allowed a conviction to stand for one of the men found guilty in the 2006 murder of Adam Lutz.

DURHAM, N.C. — The North Carolina Court of Appeals on Tuesday allowed a conviction to stand for one of the men found guilty in the 2006 murder of Adam Lutz.
Michael Harrison Hunt Jr. was convicted by a Durham jury in March 2008 for his role in the ambush and death of the Roxboro man. Investigators said Hunt was one of two men who lured Lutz into the woods for a drug deal, then shot him in the head.
Hunt was the only suspect to stand trial in Lutz's death. Four others pleaded guilty.
Tyrone Lamont Baker pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in September 2008.
Nicole L. Smith, who prosecutors said set the trap for Lutz, pleaded guilty in October 2007 to conspiracy to commit armed robbery in exchange for her testimony against Hunt and Baker.
Janeen Webb, 17, and Stephen Kyle Knight, 20, pleaded guilty in October 2007 to felony obstruction of justice in the case for helping Hunt and the second shooter flee the area in a getaway car.
