Pinehurst man, woman arrested on drug charges

Moore County sheriff's deputies arrested a Pinehurst man and woman on numerous drug charges Friday after searching their residence.

PINEHURST, N.C. — Moore County sheriff's deputies arrested a Pinehurst man and woman on numerous drug charges Friday after searching their residence.

Vernon Dalmario Daniels, 30, and Dana Yvonne Scales, 38, both of 8096 Main St., were each charged with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep or sell controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor child abuse.

Authorities seized about 12 grams of crack cocaine, 6 grams of marijuana, $6,222 in cash and drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, from the home, according to Moore County Sheriff Lane Carter. The estimated street value of the drugs is $1,000, he said.

Daniels and Scales were each being held on $10,000 secured bonds in the Moore County Detention Center.

Officers from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, the Selective Enforcement Unit and Aberdeen Police Department were involved in the search.
