A pickup truck was destroyed in a fire after a single car crash on Sunday.

Pickup truck catches fire after Moore County crash
WHISPERING PINES, N.C. — A truck was destroyed in a fire after a single car crash on Sunday.

Around 10:30 p.m., crews responded to a crash on Airport Road at the intersection of Trails End Road after a truck ran off of the roadway, striking a group of trees.

At the scene, they found a Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, but officials said the truck was totally destroyed.

The only occupant, a 20-year-old man, was found on the ground by emergency responders a short distance from the burning pickup. He was transported to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with non-life-threatening injuries.

One lane of Airport Road was temporarily closed while firefighters brought the fire under control. The crash is currently under investigation.
