Man stabbed in eye in downtown Raleigh

A man was stabbed in the eye during an argument early Sunday in the Moore Square Transit Mall in downtown Raleigh, according to police.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man was stabbed in the eye during an argument early Sunday in the Moore Square Transit Mall in downtown Raleigh, according to police.

The victim, Rahmel Charles Pitts, 33, of Princeton, was taken to WakeMed.

Police are searching for the attacker, who is described as a man in his 40s, about 6-foot-3, wearing a gray hoodie and orange or red hat and jeans.

The stabbing happened around 2:30 a.m.
