Person of interest sought in Cumberland double slaying

Cumberland County investigators are trying to identify a man who drove a wounded man to a Cary hospital after a May shootout that killed two Fayetteville men.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County investigators are trying to identify a man who drove a wounded man to a Cary hospital after a May shootout that killed two Fayetteville men.

Investigators said that gunfire erupted in a home at 3921 Donna St. on May 8, killing Rodriguez Odell Harris, 23, and Terrell Boykin, 19.

A man drove a third victim, who had been shot in the leg, to WakeMed in Cary, said Debbie Tanna, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office.

Investigators are trying to identify the driver. They characterized him as a person of interest who they believe has information about the case.
