RALEIGH, N.C. — A Person County man who matched all five numbers in the July 23 Carolina Cash 5 drawing said Thursday that he will use more than $80,000 in winnings to save for his future and donate to his church.

Baxter Durham Jr., a textile engineer, learned of his win while at work Wednesday morning.

"It was like the ticket was glowing when I looked at it," Durham said in a statement. "I had five lines of numbers and the last line just seemed to be lit up. It didn't seem real at all."

Durham's winning ticket, which was worth $126,871 before taxes, was purchased at the Berea Mini Mart on U.S. Highway 158 West in Oxford. He said the money won't change much for him.

"I already have everything I need," he said.
