Pedestrian killed in Raleigh

The victim, whose name wasn't immediately released, was walking along the road when he was struck just after noon, a police spokesman said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police say a man died Thursday afternoon after he was hit by a car on Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh.

The victim, whose name wasn't immediately released, was walking along the road in the 2100 block when he was struck just after noon, a police spokesman said.

The man was taken to WakeMed, where he died from his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed, at this point, police said.
