Maybe the driver was an illegal yankee from Cary! LOL
I do hope the pedestrian is ok.

"The Yankee comments are so old. I am originally from Michigan, but grew up here and I consider myself a Yankee still."

    As do we...

"Do you see us reinacting Civil War battles?"

Yes I do. In fact, I know a couple from Michigan (well, I think one of them is from West Virigina, another Yankee State), who now live near Clayton. They participate in a lot of Civil War re-enactments.

But neither of those facts have anything to do with this story. I'm hoping the hittee recovers and the hitter gets what's coming to 'em.

The Yankee comments are so old. I am originally from Michigan, but grew up here and I consider myself a Yankee still...but at least we can let it go. Do you see us reinacting Civil War battles? I don't think so. I'm all for history, but please get over it. It's childish.

    - I have been teaching my daughter since she was very little to always be aware and looking up in parking lots. I see so many parents let their children run ahead to the car.
    - Maybe they should ban "driving" shopping carts and talking on cell phones too! Pedestrians should not assume cars will stop for them?!
    - Cars DO need to sloooooowwww down in grocery parking lots! I live in an apartment complex and cars fly through those lots too!
    - As far as people taking responsibility and stopping, look at what most parents, teachers, authority figures let children get away with now a days and all the chances they get. You think when they grow up they will be any different.
    - And jumping to conclusions and name calling doesn't help either.

Hope the pedestrian is doing well and recuperates quickly!

likeu : I didn't think you were saying I used those terms but thanks for clarifying. And yes, you would have liked my mother -- rarely a day goes by that I don't quote her and she "had a million of 'em."

It’s hard to explain to peoples especially teenagers that once a child runs out in front of you, it will change your life forever. You cannot change the past. As a lifeless body lays in front of you, it brings home all the people who told you to slow down. You can cry all you want and pray all you want. That child is dead. It not only affects you but the child’s mother and father, brothers, sisters and the whole community who will also suffer untold grief. Please don’t believe that it will never happen to me syndrome, because it will!

"Yankees Go Home"...the Civil War ended a long time ago, get over it and move on! I am a very proud Buckeye and also love living here. People like you are why Yankees make fun of rednecks. I think it's time for you to grow up now.

PetLovingCaryLivingBuckeyeFan...I wasn't trying to say that you used them, I was just making a general statement about the postings. I think I like your mother though. LOL

  • IzzMad2016 May 24, 2007

and PS -- I have NEVER used the terms rednecks or yankees or anything of the sort in any of my postings. I think it's rude and my mother would kill me for not using better manners.
