Parents arrested after two babies test positive for meth

A Johnston County couple is under arrest and their three young children in protective custody after an 8-month-old and an 18-month-old tested positive for methamphetamine.

SELMA, N.C. — A Johnston County couple is under arrest and their three young children in protective custody after an 8-month-old and an 18-month-old tested positive for methamphetamine.

Alison Louise Hill, 24, and Rufus Charles Futch, 50, were both charged with misdemeanor child abuse.

A spokeswoman for the Johnston County Sheriff's Office said that the Department of Social Services, which was investigating the couple, asked that the children be tested.

Hill and Futch were arrested June 12 and are out on bond.
