Paratrooper found dead in Bragg barracks

— An 82nd Airborne Division paratrooper was found unresponsive in his barracks room at Fort Bragg on Friday morning and was later pronounced dead, officials said Monday.

Pvt. Joshua D. Kipte, 28, of Sherwood, Ark., was an automated logistical specialist in D Troop, 1st Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team.

The incident is under investigation, and no other details were released.

    Regardless of the cause of death, 28 is far too young. It is my hope that he did a lot of happy, productive living during those years. My best thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues.
