RALEIGH, N.C. — Police were searching Wednesday for two people in connection with the theft of people's bank card information.

The unidentified man and woman were captured in bank security videos affixing electronic devices to or removing them from automated teller machines, police said. The devices are used to "skim" ATM card information and personal identification codes from customers as they use the machines.

The data is used to create counterfeit cards, which are then used to make purchases or withdraw funds from bank accounts, police said.

Thirteen people have reported unauthorized ATM transactions in recent months, Raleigh police said.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department’s Detective Division at 919-996-3555 or Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIME.
