Pair charged with sex assault outside football game

Two men have been charged with sexually assaulting a girl in the school parking lot last week during a Northwest Halifax High School football game, authorities said Friday.

LITTLETON, N.C. — Two men have been charged with sexually assaulting a girl in the school parking lot last week during a Northwest Halifax High School football game, authorities said Friday.

The 16-year-old girl told investigators that two people pulled her into a vehicle in the parking lot on Sept. 14 and raped her.

Rashad Evans, 17, of Hollister, and Jarell King, 18, of Enfield, were charged with kidnapping and first-degree rape. Evans also was charged with first-degree sex offense.

Evans was arrested Thursday, and King was arrested Friday. Both were being held in the Halifax County jail under $50,000 bonds.

As of Saturday, Evans had bonded out, King had not.

No other details of the case were released.
