GARNER, N.C. — Two Garner residents were arrested late Sunday in connection with vehicle break-ins in the Buckhorn Road area, police said.

Brannon Votaw, 18, and Jacob McCray, 19, were each charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering of motor vehicles and one count each of misdemeanor larceny.

Investigators said thieves had been driving through Garner neighborhoods looking for vehicles to burglarize. Prime targets included vehicles that were unlocked, police said.

Officers on patrol Sunday night spotted two people sitting in a vehicle on Buckhorn Road. After questioning the pair, officers recovered some suspected stolen property and charged them, police said.

Three people have identified some of the stolen property, and police said they were looking for the owners of other property recovered.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the Garner Police Department at 919-772-8810.
