Oxford shooting victim drove self to Auto Zone

After being shot in the eye late Sunday night, Allen Rodney Preddy drove himself to an Auto Zone, police said.

OXFORD, N.C. — After being shot in the eye late Sunday night in Oxford, Allen Rodney Preddy drove himself to an Auto Zone, police said.

Other than those details, little information was released Monday regarding the incident. Preddy, who police said is a well-known local bluegrass festival promoter, drove to the Auto Zone at 120 Linden Ave. after the shooting.

Investigators did not say where Preddy was shot. No arrests were announced as of Monday evening. His medical condition is also unknown.
