One dead, two wounded in Kinston shooting

One man was killed Tuesday afternoon and two people were wounded in a shooting in Kinston, police said.

KINSTON, N.C. — One man was killed Tuesday afternoon and two people were wounded in a shooting in Kinston, police said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 205 E. Capitola Ave. shortly before 1:30 p.m. and found James Arthur Franklin, 20, dead and Dexter Bradshaw, 21, and Taishianna Hall, 20, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Bradshaw was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, and Hall was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston for treatment. Their conditions weren't known Tuesday evening.

Police didn't release any other details, saying only that investigators are following up on leads.
