One airlifted after car, tractor collide in Moore County

An accident on N.C. Highway 221 in Moore County between a passenger car and a tractor pulling a trailer sent four people to the hospital on Saturday around 12:30 p.m., according to the Aberdeen Times.

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — An accident on N.C. Highway 221 in Moore County between a passenger car and a tractor pulling a trailer sent four people to the hospital on Saturday around 12:30 p.m., according to the Aberdeen Times.

Two people were in the car at the time of the accident; both were taken to FirstHealth hospital in Pinehurst with non-life threatening injuries. One of the passengers in the tractor was taken to FirstHealth hospital as well, also with non-life threatening injuries.

The second passenger in the tractor was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.

The Jackson Springs Fire Department, West End Fire & Rescue, Sven Lakes Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office and N.C. State Highway patrol all responded to the accident, according to the Aberdeen Times.

The condition and identities of the victims have not been released. Authorities said the cause of the wreck is under investigation.
