Posted November 3, 2008

— Best-selling novelist Kaye Gibbons was arrested Sunday on charges she fraudulently obtained painkillers, police said.

Gibbons, whose full name is Bertha Kaye Gibbons, 48, 0f 4015 Baileyfield Drive in Raleigh, was charged with obtaining drugs by fraud and illegal possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance. She was released from the Wake County Jail on a $5,500 bond.

CuriousT---We do like you here. I read it on the wall of the Ladies at the RBC---while I was at the Christmas Show this year. It was held right before Labor Day. Good to see your reputation precedes you and wish mine did. If the economy improves I will mail you a beach music CD, to enjoy during the holidays and remind you of the ocean.

I really hate to hear this about Kaye Gibbons. She does look terrible. I love all her books though, and know it would take a "special" kind of pain to write the things she does. I wish her the best.

I don't know where you've been lately, Christmas is already here........and it wasn't even Halloween before it went up.

Personally, I'm boycotting any store that already has Christmas stuff up. I want my holidays to come in the order on the calendar. I don't want to see Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving.

And yes, I realize I live on my own planet, but the people like me here.
