DURHAM, N.C. — No one was injured early Wednesday morning when a fire started at a Durham apartment building.

The Durham Fire Department was dispatched around 3:15 a.m. to the fire at 504 Holloway St. When they arrived, firefighters reported smoke was visible from the second floor in the back of the two-story building.

Officials said the fire was knocked down quickly, which limited most of the damage to the unit's kitchen. There was smoke and water damage inside the unit, and a few neighboring units were evacuated.

Firefighters on scene examined what appeared to be a stove that was partially burnt.
