ZEBULON, N.C. — A Wake Forest woman died on Thursday in a two-car wreck at an intersection south of Rolesville.

Winta Mitchell Hill, 53, was driving a 2003 Crown Victoria north on Mitchell Mill Road near the intersection of Fowler Road, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Hill stopped at a stop sign at the intersection but failed to yield to passing cars.

Hill proceeded into the intersection and into the path of a 2001 Dodge Durango traveling east on Fowler Road, officials said. The Durango, driven by Payton Dale Tracy, 17, of Zebulon, crashed into the driver's side door of Hill's vehicle.

Hill was pronounced dead at the scene, and the passenger in the Crown Victoria was taken to WakeMed with serious injuries. Tracy and a 14-year-old passenger in the Durango were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges are expected to be filed.
