A North Carolina State University student confessed to selling $250,000 in marijuana in a year’s time around the campus, according to search warrants returned Monday.

Raleigh police investigators asking to search the home of Robert Harrell Bass Jr., of 125½ Chamberlain St., said in Jan. 8 search warrants that Bass made the admission after being arrested on a Level I drug trafficking charge in Oklahoma.

A state trooper there found nearly 26 pounds of marijuana in his van during a traffic stop.

The warrants say that Bass told Oklahoma state troopers that he was returning to Raleigh from Humbolt, Calif., where he had wired nearly $70,000 to a marijuana-growing operation there.

Raleigh police took more than $26,000 in cash, a computer, drug paraphernalia and nearly 65 grams of marijuana from Bass’s home during two searches, warrants indicated.

Bass was being held Monday under a $25,000 bond at the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office in Sallisaw, Okla. It was unclear if Bass faces any additional charges in Raleigh.

"The vast majority (YES MILLIONS) do make it just fine and those that do infact kill or injure other drivers should be charged with murder or causing injury. The threat of these charges are enough we don't need to peer into everyone's blood stream to see if they are under the influence of anything. Accidents happen to completely sober people and they happen to people who happen to be stoned as well. Statistically the group that causes the most misery on the road by far are the extremely drunk, those with BAC 3 or 4 times our current no tolerance limits. godnessgracious"

Okay, once again, the vast majority (YES MILLIONS) are NOT driving safely high, drunk or buzzed. I don't know what world you are living in., but it's not one that includes reality.

What a WONDERFUL CASH CROP!!!! Duh duh, Just legalize and tax it and guess what!!!!! U Z out of debt!!!!!

It is sad that this young man could not do a better job of driving cross country. In Ed Rosenthall's book on indoor marijuana cultivation, he brings out how that 90% of people busted for drugs, are FIRST contacted by LE for another reason. You have to be otherwise totally law abiding to successfully smuggle/manufacture drugs. I dont do this any more, but for many years grew here in Alaska, when it was still legal to do so. Sounds like this young man should live in California or some other state that allows the free use of marijuana. If NC got smart, they would legalize it and tax it before other states around it does. NC will loose out on profits that are there to be made from drug sales just like they did for years on lotto sales. Wake up NC legislature!!

Bad medicine indeed...this stuff will make you microwave babies, drive off cliffs while flapping like a bird, and mistake the gas flame on the range top as a big, purty blue flower. I am the ultimate authority on this issue, none can prevail against my infinite wisdom and insight.....I saw it all in a film that Sgt. Stadanko presented in my 7th grade class...Sister Mary Elephant presiding. ;)

Marijuana is the #1 cash crop in this state. Legalize it already!!! It amazing how much marijuana is grown in this state. Those who are not in the "loop" can not possibly comprehend how much Bud is grown in this state. NC is the California of the east coast!

Shhhhhhhhh!!!
