Police charged a motorist Sunday in connection with a hit-and-run at North Harrison Avenue and Chapel Hill Road in Cary.

The bicyclist, Gustavo A. Angalo, 26, of Cary, was struck from behind by a vehicle at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The driver left the scene but police released a description of the car and license plate number.

The person thought to be driving the car, Kristen Marie Snipes, 26, was arrested Sunday in Lancaster, S.C., and charged with felony hit and run, police said.

Angalo was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh where he was listed in fair condition Sunday.

Snipes, of  Morrisville, was being held in S.C. while awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

yea I came up on an idiot riding a bicycle in the dark last night. they had a tail light that was barely flashing...stupid!

what the heck was Angalo doing riding a bike at 9:45 at night? Drunk or not, it was DARK!!!

SOunds to me the following:

1. She did not want to share the road.

2. She thought she was the only person who owned it.

3. In court, she will attempt to blame the bicyclist.

4. By the looks of the girl, she had a rough weekend.

sounds more like the driver should not have been on the road. there's gotta be a pic with the prior record bumblebee. should be easy to verify.

Do you think that maybe this is the same Kristen Marie Snipes who already has charges pending in Wake County for DWI, unsealed alcohol in the passenger area, and civil revocation of driver's license??? Bumble Bee

It would be interesting to find out if it is the same individual. But do you think that the WRAL "reporters" would do the hard work of investigative reporting to determine your hunch is true?
