SPRING LAKE, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff's deputies on Wednesday identified a father and son as suspects in a string of convenience store robberies in Spring Lake.

They arrested Morris Antonio Reid, 46, of 1510 Darvel Ave. in Fayetteville, and charged him with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of common law robbery, two counts of second-degree kidnapping and four counts of felony conspiracy.

They are asking the public for help in finding his son, Morris Antonio Reid Jr., 26, of 2552 Saddle Ridge Drive in Spring Lake.

Deputies dubbed the father the "T-shirt bandit" for his habit of using a shirt to obscure his face during the crimes. They said he is believed to have robbed at least five Kangaroo and Multi-Mile stores along Lillington Highway and North Main Street.

Reid Jr. is a black man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with black dreadlocks and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500 or to leave an anonymous tip at 910-484-8477.
