Raleigh, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Friday for a missing Rocky Mount man.
Jason Richard Key, 36, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
Key is white, stands 6 feet tall and weighs 145 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes.
Key was last seen at 523 Hammond St. in Rocky Mount, police said.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Rocky Mount police at 252-972-1411.
Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.
It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
