Oxford, N.C. — A man was found shot to death Tuesday evening inside the Union Bank & Trust Co. building on College Street, police said.
Benjamin A. Gentry, 70, of East Front Street in Oxford, was in an upstairs office he leased from the bank, police said. Gentry's wife found his body at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after not hearing from him for several hours, police said.
State Bureau of Investigation agents were assisting Oxford police with the investigation.
Gentry's body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.
