Farmers Market Restaurant to close for repairs

e-mail print friendly

The State Farmers Market Restaurant will be closed for repairs from Jan. 11 until March 7.

Closing is the best way to handle repairs planned for the kitchen, HVAC and floor of the building, which opened in 1991, said Kent Yelverton, director of property and construction for the N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. The department leases the space to the restaurant.

“We are committed to meeting the March 7 reopening date so that the project’s impact on the restaurant’s employees and customers is as small as possible,” Yelverton said.

When the restaurant reopens, customers will have the additional options of patio seating and dinner service on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

ProzacDispenser must be from the North. No southern boils chicken and puts BBQ sauce on it. They may broil it but not boil it. This place has great southern food - you have to understand southern food to appreciate it.

By dinner I'm guessing they mean supper. It's about as close to old timey home cooking as you'll get in a restaurant.

Was just there on New Years Day for some good southern cooking. The fried chicken there and the biscuits are second only to home made.

this is one place that actually doesn't thrill me....boiled chicken with BBQsauce slapped on it is not the best I've had. but i do know many other people luv' this place.

"how does a business stand 2 months of essentially being out of business...I've seen the closed for renovation signs before...and they never re-open.. fatcat11"

Have you seen the dinner line on the weekends? This is one business that is not short of customers (and their accompanying $$$). Hubby loves their fried chicken. We'll be looking forward to the re-opening.
