Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested a man for allegedly crashing into a police cruiser and then leaving the scene early Saturday.
Police said that a vehicle driven by Eric Njoroge, 29, struck the cruiser head-on at Glenwood Avenue, near West Peace Street, shortly after 4 a.m. Njoroge left the scene, but officers quickly apprehended him, police said.
Officer G.A. Witherspoon was treated for minor injuries and released from Rex Hospital, police said.
Njoroge was charged with felony hit-and-run and driving while impaired. He was being held in the Wake County Jail under a $5,000 bond Saturday morning. His first court date was set for Monday afternoon.
