RALEIGH, N.C. — Two suspects in the kidnapping of a woman and her two children in Maryland were arrested in Raleigh Friday night, police said.

Joseph Franklin Brown, 35, and William Cordell Johnson, 37, were wanted in the kidnapping of a PNC Bank manager, her 5-year-old daughter 1-year-old son in St. Mary’s County, Md., on Sept. 24. Authorities said the manager was also forced to take money from the bank.

The woman and her children were released unharmed.

Maryland investigators contacted Raleigh police overnight and said the suspects might be in the area. Within two hours, Raleigh police located the men at an apartment in the 3000 block of Lake Woodard Drive. They were arrested without incident.

Brown and Johnson were transported to the Wake County Jail and were being held there as fugitives from justice Saturday afternoon.
