DURHAM, N.C. — A pickup truck driver ran a car off the road and then crashed into a house on Guess Road Saturday night, police said.

Investigators said David Wayne Minton, 47, of 806 Prologue Road, was going north on Guess around 9:15 p.m. when he rear-ended a 2000 Honda Odyssey driven by Stephen Brady.

The impact forced the Odyssey off the road, where it struck a tree in the front yard of a house at 3684 Guess Road, police said. Minton's 1999 Dodge Ram also ran off the road into the yard and hit the house.

All the occupants of the Odyssey were taken to Duke University Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No one in the home was injured.

The extent of damage to the house was unknown.

Minton faces charges of driving while impaired and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was being held in the Durham County Jail Sunday morning.

Minton was convicted of DWI in Durham County in 1991, according to state Department of Correction records.
