Lee deputies charge man, 29, with raping girl, 11
Lee County sheriff's deputies Friday secured an arrest warrant for a 29-year-old Sanford man who they say raped an 11-year-old girl, who gave birth to a baby in January.

SANFORD, N.C. — Lee County sheriff's deputies Friday secured an arrest warrant for a 29-year-old Sanford man who they say raped an 11-year-old girl, who gave birth to a baby in January.
Jesus Mendez Hernandez , whose last know address was 294 Peters Lane in Sanford, is wanted for first-degree rape of a child and other charges, deputies said in a statement.
Hernandez reportedly has left Lee County, they said.
The case began Jan. 13, when deputies got a report that an 11-year-old had given birth at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, they said.
