Body found in Cape Fear River

Fayetteville, N.C. — Police are trying to identify a body of a man found floating in the Cape Fear River.

The badly decomposed body was discovered Thursday evening near Riverside Marina.

The man did not have identification on him, police said.

The body was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

His cause of death was not immediately known.
