Fort Bragg Soldier Killed in Baghdad
FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier was killed in Baghdad on Thursday by an IED attack, according to U.S. Army officials.

Sgt. Ronald A. Coffelt, 36 – with the 118th Military Police Company, 503rd Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade – died while conducting a patrol during combat operations, the Army said in announcing his death.

“Sergeant Coffelt was a dedicated soldier, father and husband,” Sgt. Jennifer Cendrowski-Darby, a fellow soldier,was quoted as saying. “It was a pleasure to work with him. He was the type of person you never forget.”

Members of Coffelt's unit will hold a memorial ceremony at 4 p.m., July 24, at the Main Post Chapel, the XVIII Airborne Corps said in a statement from Fort Bragg.
