Men steal money, merchandise from video store in Burlington

Two men wearing masks robbed the clerk at gunpoint, Burlington police said.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Two men robbed robbed a video store at gunpoint early Monday, taking money and merchandise from the store, authorities said.

Burlington police said the incident happened about 3:45 a.m. at the Outlet Video & News, 2223 Maple Ave. Two men wearing masks entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. They also grabbed some merchandise before running out of the store, police said.

The first robber was described as a skinny man, weighing between 160 and 170 pounds, 6 feet tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.The second man was larger, at about 250 pounds and 6 feet 4 inches tall, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with cut-off sleeves and a long-sleeved white shirt underneath. He had a large bulge at the back of his head, possibly indicating long hair tucked underneath his hood.
