A man died and his wife was hospitalized Saturday afternoon after a driver turned her car into the path of their motorcycle on a Cumberland County road.

According to the state Highway Patrol, Bobbie Brown, 41, hit the bike while making a left turn on U.S. Highway 301 near Snowhill Road. She was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, failure to see when turning and unsafe tires.

Daniel George Alward and Amanda Alward, both 31, of Hope Mills, were on the motorcycle. She was in serious condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Two passengers from Brown's car, Anthony Autry, 46, and Dana Gabriel, 21, were taken to the hospital for evaluation, but neither was seriously injured, troopers said.

SO all Ms. Brown received was that She was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, failure to see when turning and unsafe tires. so let me get this right... I can not pay attention while driving and have bald tires, kill a motorcyclist and all I will get sited for is a misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, failure to see when turning and unsafe tires. well hell i might as well do this myself...... there have been a rash of unfortunatnt deaths to motorcyclists here lately and it wasn't their fault but the fault lies with the operator of the motorvehicle.... and the family of the killed person has to suffer... where is the justice in that??? she should have been charged with vehiclular manslaughter... because that is exactly what that was... manslaughter!!!!!

Please Please Please look twice before you turn.
