UNC wrestler arrested in fight; two officers injured

print friendly

Two Chapel Hill police officers suffered minor injuries Tuesday night while breaking up a large fight in the 100 block of East Franklin Street near the Varsity Theater.

Officers arrested University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student Corey D. Mock, who is on the school's wrestling team, which is coached by his father. Officers said Mock ran from them after they saw him fighting.

He is charged with simple affray, as well as resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Police did not say how the two officers were injured. Their names were not released. No other information was available.

Now, this headline makes one think the wrestler hurt the officers, but that isn't what was said inthe story.

I didnt realize they even knew how to fight in Chapel Hill,,Wonder if they brought along there pom pom's..

Kerliner Klass.

Mr. French, what are these shenanigans you are speaking of? Why do you think an independent investigation is necessary? Do you think the school is corrupt? Athletic dept corrupt? Comon. Don't you think that each of these cases are not related to each other AND would thus need for the school board to issue harsh[er] disciplinary actions for those accused of any wrongdoing?

The entire school is not the issue. It is not the school's responsibility to monitor each student; it is the responsibility of each student to honor school codes as well as not breaking any law.

Cocaine- Against the law Fighting-Against the law

"What will it take for a GROWN-UP to step up to the plate and call for an independent investigation into all the problems in that baby blue cesspool of vice and corruption?"

LOL..vice and corruption, huh?

Sounds like you are one grownup short yourself.
