Police: Same man robbed Raleigh, Cary banks

Raleigh police said Wednesday that a man who they believe robbed a SunTrust bank on Creedmoor Road in September is also responsible for a bank robbery last week in Cary.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police said Wednesday that a man who they believe robbed a SunTrust bank on Creedmoor Road in September is also responsible for a bank robbery last week in Cary.

Surveillance images from the robberies show a tall, white man with a slender build and a gray beard or stubble approaching the teller and demanding money. He was wearing a baseball cap and dark sunglasses on both occasions.

Cary police said he is 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighs around 200 pounds and has large buck teeth. He wore socks to cover his hands.

It wasn't clear in the images whether the man was armed.

Police say the man robbed a SunTrust Bank branch inside a Kroger grocery store at 1273 NW Maynard Road in Cary on Nov. 25 and at 6300 Creedmoor Road in Raleigh on Sept. 23.
