Three sought for questioning in Fayetteville mall shooting
Authorities released surveillance images Monday of three people sought for questioning related to shots fired Friday while shoppers crowded Cross Creek Mall in search of Black Friday deals.
Posted — UpdatedNo one was injured when gunfire rang out around 2 a.m. near the food court entrance, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said. More shots were fired inside the mall as the shooters fled into the crowds of post-Thanksgiving shoppers.
Surveillance images show three black men, who appear to be unarmed, entering the mall at 2:04 a.m.
One is wearing an orange T-shirt, gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and white sneakers; one is wearing a black jacket with thin white stripes across the front, dark pants, white sneakers and a red baseball cap; and the third man is wearing khaki-colored pants and a white and black zip-up jacket.
The sheriff's office called the three men pictured "suspects," but it isn't clear whether they are believed to be the gunmen, or involved in the shooting in another capacity.
Anyone who can identify the men is asked to call detectives at 910-323-1500 and leave an anonymous tip at 910-484-8477.
