The owner of NY Style Pizza died in a shooting inside the restaurant at 7440 Louisburg Road Thursday night, according to Raleigh police.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — The owner of NY Style Pizza died in a shooting inside the restaurant  at 7440 Louisburg Road Thursday night, according to Raleigh police.

The shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. Emergency crews took Jay Waheed Ammeri, 36, to WakeMed Hospital, where he died.

Authorities detained a suspect, whose name was not released, and said the person knew Ammeri. No charges have been filed, and it was unclear what prompted the shooting.

Homicide investigators were still inside the restaurant early Friday. They also spent 10 to 20 minutes gathering clues inside Nail USA, which is a few doors down from NY Style Pizza.
