RALEIGH, N.C. — A man arrested in the shooting of four teens at the intersection of Capital and Crabtree boulevards on Monday had a bulletproof vest at his home, according to a search warrant released on Wednesday.

Martin Perez Botello, 24, of 1019 N. Spring Garden Circle in Raleigh, was charged Tuesday with murder in the death of Francisco Aurelio Kelly, 18, and three counts of attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of three teenagers who were with Kelly.

Police said it was not a random shooting and that Botello and the victims knew each other. They did not elaborate about a possible motive for the shootings.

In a search of Botello's home on Tuesday, authorities also seized a gun, bullets, four small marijuana plants, a scale, a pipe and a clipboard containing an unknown white substance.

Botello was being held at the Wake County jail on Wednesday.
