Threat delays Southwest flight to RDU

Someone called Southwest headquarters in Dallas to issue a "non-specific" threat, company spokeswoman Ashley Rogers said. The company notified the Transportation Security Administration, Rogers said, and although threat didn't specify a flight, TSA officials decided to halt Flight 466.

"Cops rushed on the plane and said, 'Get off the plane, get off the plane!'” passenger Marques Kidd recalled.

After passengers were taken off the plane, the aircraft was towed off the tarmac to an isolated location, where dogs searched it, Rogers said. The dogs found nothing aboard the plane, she said.

Passenger Carol Siebert of Chapel Hill said the entire concourse at Philadelphia International Airport was cleared during the incident. Passengers were told only that there was a security breach, she said.

Passengers' luggage was re-examined, and Southwest officials were preparing to let them board the plane again at about 5 p.m., Rogers said.

Flight 466 was supposed to leave Philadelphia at 3:50 p.m. It arrived at RDU shortly before 7 p.m.

A flight from Philadelphia to RDU was delayed after a threat was called in.
