Troopers: Child killed in wreck wasn't properly restrained
A 6-year-old child was not properly restrained when the SUV she was riding in collided Friday with a tractor trailer in Harnett County, according to the state Highway Patrol.

The tractor trailer was traveling northbound on Interstate 95, near the Pope Road overpass, when the SUV attempted to pass it, troopers said.
The driver of the SUV lost control of the vehicle and went off the road, striking a guardrail before over correcting, then hitting the tractor trailer and landing upside down, troopers said.
SUV passenger Taryn Greise, 6, of Pennsylvania, was killed, troopers said. She was not restrained in a child’s car seat or wearing a seatbelt, troopers said Sunday.
The driver of the SUV, Brandon John Greise Sr., 34, three other adults and two other children were transported to Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The tractor trailer driver was not injured.
Troopers said charges could be filed this week in the wreck.
