Raleigh, N.C. — Wake County sheriff's deputies are investigating after a woman's body was found Monday evening at 6937 Rock Service Station Road.
A relative called 911 after finding the body inside the home around 5:30 p.m., Sheriff Donnie Harrison said.
Harrison said it appears Paula McCance, 83, was killed inside her home, off of N.C. Highway 42. Her cause of death was not released.
McCance lived alone but her sister was supposed to be moving in with her on Tuesday.
Deputies canvassed the area Monday evening looking for people who may have seen someone go into the home.
Anyone with information that could help investigators is urged to call the sheriff's office.
