— Cumberland County authorities were searching Wednesday for the boyfriend of a Fayetteville woman whose body was found early Monday in Stedman.

Keith Devon Manuel, 32, of 1686 S. Reilly Road, hasn't been seen since Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. Investigators said they believe he might be trying to leave North Carolina.

Manuel is the boyfriend of Jessica Morgan-Lee, 35, whose body was found Monday morning in her SUV.

The vehicle had been parked along Shelton Beard Road in Stedman for at least two days before a concerned resident called authorities. Morgan-Lee lived on Pepperbush Drive in Fayetteville, which is 17 miles away, and friends told authorities they have no idea what she was doing there.

Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiners Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Investigators said they believe Manuel knows who killed Morgan-Lee and want to question him about her slaying. Although he has a past history of domestic violence, authorities haven't called him a suspect in the case.

Manuel is described as a black man, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and about 175 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and he has a scar on his forehead.

Anyone who knows of Manuel's whereabouts is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500.

I NEW IT! As soon as I heard a women was dead.
My first thought was what man has killed her. I know it is not possible, but it feels like more women die by the hands of men than die from natural causes!

I knew Jess and I know that whoever killed her will get HIS . Listen up women who are being abused it could be YOU , I can only hope that her death can help someone get out of a abusive relationship.

What is it that women see in a sad sack like this guy? She seemed to be an intelligent, ambitious woman. Why would she allow herself to be abused? I see it all the time and just cannlt understand it.

LADIES LISTEN TO YOUR FAMILES AND FRIENDS WHEN THEY TRY TO TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT THE ABUSER IN YOUR LIFE. THEY ARE TRYING TO SAVE YOUR LIFE. IT DON'T COST NOTHING TO LIST. TAKE THE TIME. BE SAFE.

she has 3 children, wasn't anyone looking for her?

Because family and friends don't keep in touch like they should. When their is a tragic death, they begin to feel guilty in not doing so. They need to seek counseling.

Why do certain women love being beaten and allow men to control them? I know they were not raised this way. Some women are just pure desperate to have a man in their life, even though this man is evil. Wake up ladies before its too late.

That is why it is extra important for anyone involved in an abusive relationship to keep lines of communication open

WRONG!! If you are being abused, you need to leave immediately. If you cannot, then prepare to leave when he leaves your place of home. He will leave, and when he does run for your life. It make no sense why some of you women continue to live and be around abusers. THIS IS NOT LOVE!

My condolences to the family. Ladies make certain you have the right man who is decent and respectful and do not mind being around your family and friends. This man is guilty as sin.

"Investigators said they believe Manuel knows who killed Morgan-Lee and want to question him about her slaying. Although he has a past history of domestic violence, authorities haven't called him a suspect in the case."

Not a suspect? Yeah, right. If the cops believe he knows who killed her, he is either the "suspect" or an accessory to the "suspect". My money's on the first option.
