Cary, N.C. — The Cary home once shared by Brad Cooper and his slain wife, Nancy, has been sold.

The 12-room home at 104 Wallsburg Court, was originally listed on the Triangle real estate market at $349,900. It was unclear Friday how much it sold for, but the listing price had been reduced $30,000.

Brad Cooper, 35, is in jail on a first-degree murder charge in connection with his wife's July 12 death.

A man walking his dog found Nancy Cooper's body lying on the bank of a storm water pond in an undeveloped subdivision less than three miles from the couple's home.

The 34-year-old mother of two was likely strangled, according to a medical examiner's report.

In November, a Wake County District Court judge issued a temporary restraining order that prohibits Brad Cooper from selling any of his possessions or liquidating any of his assets. Net proceeds from the home sale must be held in escrow pending a further ruling.

Nancy Cooper's parents, Garry and Donna Rentz, have temporary custody of the Cooper children, Bella and Katie, in Canada. They asked for the order, claiming they believe Brad Cooper had instructed his family how to dispose of his assets to pay for legal fees instead of supporting his daughters.

"It's unfortunate that there is no equity left in the residence, because Bella and Katie have received very little financial support from the defendant since July 2008," Alice Stubbs, a Raleigh attorney representing the Rentzes, said Friday afternoon.
