DURHAM, N.C. — Two armed men robbed a Durham bank Wednesday morning and then fled in a car stolen earlier in the day, police reported.

The green Nissan Sentra, license plate WXZ-2962, was reported stolen shortly after midnight Wednesday on Woodway Club Drive. A man told police he had just parked the car when a man approached, pointed a gun at him and demanded the keys.

At 10:45 a.m., witnesses told police that two masked men entered the bank, showed a gun and ordered everyone to the floor. The men took an undisclosed amount of money, then fled the RBC Bank branch at 2313 N.C. Highway 54, in what police believe was the same car.

Durham police found the stolen vehicle unoccupied and still running at Sal’s Pizza at 2223 N.C. Highway 54, they said.
