— A CSX worker was killed Monday when he was buried under 150 tons of coal at a Robeson County power plant, officials said.

The unidentified worker died at the Weatherspoon Plant, a coal-fired power plant near Lumberton that is owned by Progress Energy, officials said. A CSX train loaded with coal came into the plant when the worker became trapped under the coal, officials said.

The accident was under investigation Monday, but the plant remained in operation, officials said.

    "somebody screwed up majorly"
Indeed. Unfortuneately it probably was the guy that got killed.
Sound like he was in the pit, maybe freeing up a jam when he got trapped and buried. Hoppers and pits are dangerously places. A neighbors Son died in a grain pit on his farm and that just how it happened.

"They could have ceased operation for the day out of respect!"
Its a power station. You don't turn those things on and off like a light switch. There are much more useful ways of showing respect than that.

Cannot understand this sentence - odd structure.

Praying for this poor man's loved ones. Awful way to die.

    God bless.

CSX does not cease operations for anything. They may delay trains due to the track not being cleared but they don't stop. My uncle rest his soul used to work for CSX. I feel so much for the family. RR is not an easy life for a family. Incredible pay and federal benefits and retirement, if you make it that long.
